Betchwood Vale Academy
UPDATE NOVEMBER 2022
Mole Valley District Council are due to make their decision on Betchwood Vale Academy early in the new year so we are appealing for your urgent support to ensure the school goes ahead. Our new school has the backing of Surrey County Council but we also need our wider community to add your voices. Please have a look at the film on the separate project website betchwoodvaleplans.co.uk, where you can also find out how to support the application.
The Howard Partnership Trust (THPT) continue to work closely with the Department of Education and their chosen contractors, Bowmer and Kirkland, on this exciting new school development at a proposed site in Dorking, which is now at the planning application stage.
The school, named Betchwood Vale Academy, will help support the overwhelming need for SEND places in Surrey, by offering a co-educational all-through SEND school designed for up to 180 pupils aged 7-19 years, which will support young learners with Communication and Interaction Needs (COIN), and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) including High Functioning Autism (HFA).
The addition of Betchwood Vale Academy will enrich THPT ethos and vision for ‘bringing out the best’ in our young people of all abilities and backgrounds, so increasing their life-chances.
