Welcome to the newest school in the THPT family

From the start of this term, Sunbury Manor School has officially joined The Howard Partnership Trust (THPT), one of the most successful education trusts in Surrey.

THPT is a multi-academy trust that now brings 14 schools across Surrey together under one governance board and leadership structure. The Trust is already well known to many local families. Both Meadhurst Primary and Kenyngton Manor Primary School are long-standing members.

The Trust believes that every child deserves a life-changing education. This commitment has delivered real improvements in schools. Today, 92% of THPT schools are rated “Good” or better by Ofsted.  Just 53% of schools achieved a “Good” or better rating prior to joining the Trust.

Together, THPT and Sunbury Manor School believe they can better serve local families by:

  • Serving the children of Sunbury from the age of 2 to 16
  • Sharing expertise and best practice across schools
  • Giving the school additional strategic and practical support
  • Running more efficient infrastructure, ensuring resources are focused on young people

Louise Lee, CEO of THPT, said: “Sunbury Manor has a proud history of service to the local community. While the school has experienced challenges in more recent years, school leaders have already secured real and rapid improvements. Becoming part of THPT will give the school access to additional expertise and capacity to continue this journey.

“Within THPT, we see ourselves as an ecosystem. Every school has something to contribute and something to learn from others in the Trust. We are excited about what Sunbury Manor will bring to the rest of our schools and how we can grow stronger together, for the benefit of our young people.”

David Lee, Headteacher of Sunbury Manor School, said: “Sunbury Manor is on a trajectory of rapid improvement. We believe that joining THPT will cement our improvements and help take us to new levels of success. This new partnership is only possible because the school and the Trust share values and are committed to enabling each young person to do their best.”
